The eucalypt is dubbed the fever tree. It has a strong, balsamic odor that increases the healthfulness of the air and environment. This is particularly true around dank, swampy, marshy illness-riddled districts because its roots helped to dry out waterlogged soils. Eucalyptus was used as a malaria preventative in Sicily. The eucalyptus leaves are used in distillation.
